Who Will Save You?

It's an interesting concept to consider. Who is coming to save you? I think so many of us think someone IS going to save us. I remember as a young adult, I would look to people to save me. After I left home, I would look to my friends, church friends, even my husband to save me. Thankfully my Heavenly Father taught me that no person is going to save me.

However, Jesus has. In any of life's varied situations, challenges and obstacles, God, His Son, and His Word will ALWAYS save me. This is the pivotal point in my distinction. I need to ALLOW this to happen. I need to draw near to Him and allow Him to draw near to me.

He taught me to rely on Him. To be independently dependent on Him! What a way to live!

He will never force Himself upon me. When I allow myself to lean in, to draw near, to put IT IS WRITTEN in my thoughts and cast down every imagination, all the thoughts to the obedience of Christ...I get that victory. I get that deliverance. I get God working in the situation to work all things together for me because of one thing. I love Him.

Which allows me to consider, how do I love Him? The Word tells us to love Him is to obey Him and keep His commandments.

1 John 5:2-3 (KJV)

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

This is really the heart of the matter. He wants our heart. All of it. All the time. He wants our heart. He wants us to read and study His Word. Why? So, we know what is available. So that we know who Jesus is. To know the nature and majesty of what God will do for us! To see ourselves as He sees us. To have a peace that passes understanding. The why is infinite. The how is simple.

Jesus, God's Son, read and studied and understood the scripture inside and out. And, He was God's SON! He was a man. He needed to understand who He was and what God's purpose was for His life. He learned this by studying God's Word. By quoting scripture, IT IS WRITTEN, to Himself and to life's situations. IT IS WRITTEN gives us the victory. When we know what God says in any of life's colorful situations, we will have the victory and the devil MUST flee.

So, not only salvation do we receive, not by works but by grace, but a saving of life's situations. Whatever that looks like. What do you need to be saved from? Run to Him and allow Him to do what no earthly person can.
